Columns of smoke rise over the northern Gaza Strip, seen from the Israeli side of the border, as Israel's army continues its operations in the Palestinian territory. The military called for residents to evacuate several neighbourhoods in northern Gaza after it said it had intercepted a projectile fired from the area.
