Join me today as I hike the famous 'Mast Path' in the French Pyrenees mountains. This beautiful path was carved from rock to allow the transport of large trees from the mountains to the towns for use in the French navy. It is part of the 1000 km GR10 thru‑hike, which crosses the Pyrenees from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean—a route I completed in 2024. The trail is cut into the rock 200 m above the canyon floor, with no rail or wall to protect you from a sheer drop, so it’s not for those afraid of heights.
