As Israel continues its first ground offensive in central Gaza's Deir al-Balah, the UN warns that the last lifelines keeping people alive in the territory are collapsing. UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy says he feels appalled and sickened by the scenes coming out of Gaza. The UK and more than 20 other nations criticised the Israeli government and military for its unacceptable conduct. The Israeli government dismissed the statement as disconnected from reality, saying Hamas is the sole party responsible for the continuation of the war and the suffering on both sides.
