Deskripsi:

Kaysersberg, formerly a French commune in Haut‑Rhin, is a picturesque village in the Alsace region. Located in the historic valley, it has a rich heritage marked by Roman churches, stone fortresses, cobbled streets, half‑timbered houses, and wall paintings by Maurice Denis. Its strategic position allowed control of transit between Haute Alsace and Lorraine, leading to early military occupation and the construction of a fortress around 1218. The town flourished under the Hohenstaufen family, became part of the Holy Roman Empire in 1293, and later joined the Decapolis alliance. Its wine production prospered and was exported throughout the empire. The village endured hardships during the Thirty Years’ War and World War II, but has since recovered, preserving its architectural and cultural legacy.
