Lyon faces rising temperatures as second southern France heatwave spreads | AFP

Footage shows passersby in central Lyon as a heatwave, the second to hit France this summer, is set to spread on Saturday across much of the south, where 28 departements are on orange heatwave alert, with the warning expected to expand on Sunday. A large part of southern France will experience a weekend with temperatures ranging between 34°C and 40°C, potentially reaching up to 41°C from the foothills of the Cevennes to the lower Rhone valley, according to the French meteorological administration, Meteo-France.
