Deskripsi:

Researchers in the US have begun building a new particle detector, the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), hoping to find an answer to why our Universe exists. The project will study subatomic particles, and the US team is racing against a Japanese team that is several years ahead. Current theories of the Universe's origin cannot explain the existence of planets, stars, and galaxies. The US‑led international collaboration hopes the answer lies deep underground, with scientists traveling 1,500 metres below the surface into three vast underground caverns.
