Silent Hill f offers two display modes on PS5 and one on PS5 Pro. The PS5 performance mode sacrifices resolution, shadows, ambient occlusion, and post‑processing to achieve 60fps. Visually, the game is solid, with clever use of Unreal Engine 5 creating an excellent atmosphere. PS5 Pro suffers from similar noise issues in shadows and ambient occlusion due to PSSR, and an option to disable PSSR would have been ideal. Both consoles maintain a stable frame rate, though cutscenes are locked at 30fps, which can be annoying. The stable frame rate comes at the cost of low rendering resolution: PS5 Pro stays at 720p, while PS5 ranges between 720p and 360p in performance mode. Ideally, rescaling to 4K from 1080p would be better than starting at 720p.
