In this episode, I visit the Panjshir Valley, one of Afghanistan’s most famous regions, where the scars of war are still evident. Under Taliban rule, I show why the valley is crucial, the challenges faced by locals, and how it has become a symbol of resistance. I pass a Taliban checkpoint to reach the valley, talk with local residents, experience life after war, discuss communication difficulties with Taliban members, interview an Afghan citizen attempting to illegally cross into Turkey, and learn about the dangers and hardships along the Turkish border.
