Deadly drone strike rocks Kharkiv, dozens injured in night assault

A deadly drone assault on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv killed at least two people and left more than 50 injured in the early hours of June 11, according to local authorities. The strike began shortly after midnight and lasted less than ten minutes, causing widespread destruction across residential areas. Officials say more than a dozen drones struck multi‑storey buildings, homes, businesses, playgrounds, and sections of public transport infrastructure. Footage released by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service shows emergency crews racing to respond to fires and rescue operations at several impacted sites. Kharkiv’s mayor had earlier warned residents that multiple enemy drones were approaching the city, urging people to take shelter.
