Fallen Leaf: Part 89: Stage 5-STAR 2: Ambrosia Forest (Getting the Golden Mushroom) is a hidden level that requires the player to find a hidden map in an NPC spot. In the cave of Oasis Garden, talking to Cesati reveals the grave of a gnome named Alni, whose restless ghost longs for a Golden Mushroom he was hunting before being killed by an Ambrosia Beetle. Thorn tracks down the mythical mushroom, unlocking the level. The Ambrosia Beetles are easy to defeat and drop loose jewels. The level contains a Gold Chest Treasure that is a garden gnome. At 5:11, crack a wall to find a dark doorway, then follow the path to reach the Golden Mushroom. After obtaining it, returning it to Alni's grave causes the ghost to eat the mushroom, speak full sentences again, and finally be freed. Thorn and the others keep the mushroom, which becomes the final magical weapon in the game, hovering forward and releasing spores that damage enemies continuously, and can fly through walls. The level is the only regular level in The Dreadlands untouched by technology, featuring natural critters, deadly plants, and occasional Boney enemies.
