Welcome to the We Are Jazz Shabe Yalda Special. Tonight, we celebrate Shab-e Yalda (Yalda Night), an ancient Persian festival marking the arrival of winter and the longest night of the year. (For our Global Audience) Yalda is one of the most ancient traditions in the world, dating back thousands of years to the worship of Mithra (the sun god).
