Maryam, chosen by Allah and elevated above all women, was visited by the angel Jibril who informed her that she would bear a pure child. Though she questioned how she could conceive without a man, Jibril explained that it was Allah’s will. Maryam became pregnant, and her sister, the wife of Zakariya, dreamed that the unborn child would perform prostration to her. She realized Maryam was chosen. When Maryam was in distress, Jibril comforted her, telling her that a stream would flow beneath her and that she should shake the palm tree to receive fresh dates. She then gave birth to a pure child, Isa (Jesus). The people accused her of sin, but Maryam remained silent, pointing to the infant. The child spoke, declaring himself a servant of Allah, a prophet, and a blessing to his mother. Allah purified Maryam, and her son became a sign and mercy to humanity. This narrative reminds believers of the deep respect and love for Maryam and her son, shared with both Muslims and Christians.
