Since you enjoyed the shoulder anatomy video last week, here is a series showing the different ways the shoulder blade moves. This is not to be confused with shoulder motions of the arm and socket. The shoulder blade has its own set of movements that, when combined with the ball‑and‑socket movements, create the most mobile set of joints in the body. If you want to improve shoulder control and range of motion, get good at these simple‑looking movements. For the last one, the easiest way to remember abduction and adduction is: abduction – the limb is moved away from the body; adduction – the limb is moved toward the body. Upward and downward rotation happen when you lift the arm overhead, but with enough practice you can control them. Should we continue demonstrating motions of the body?
