A playthrough of Sega's 1994 educational "StoryWare" game for the Sega Pico, Tails and the Music Maker. The Sega Pico, a little‑known console in the West, paired a clamshell design with a touchpad and a cartridge that included a book. The game teaches music concepts such as notes, tempo, and instrument usage. Its stages are based on Sonic titles: a platforming section from Green Hill Zone and a pinball stage from Casino Night Zone. Production values are lower than Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld, but it remains a unique novelty, especially as one of the few games where Tails stars. Despite its failure in the West, the Pico was successful in Asia for blending gaming with learning.
