An old Four Corners episode from 1975 has gone viral for highlighting the difference in Australia’s housing market. The segment showed a “working class” family of eight that had bought a house in Mount Druitt, a suburb in Sydney’s outer west. The price of the house – even adjusted for inflation – stunned many young Australians, who are facing significantly more barriers to achieving the ‘Great Australian Dream’.
