🇰🇿 ARBAT. ALMATY, KAZAKHSTAN

Arbat is a pedestrian zone on Jibek Joly Street in Almaty, Kazakhstan, situated between Abylai Khan Avenue and Nazarbayev Street. Established in the late 1980s as the city’s first pedestrian area, it was named after Moscow’s Arbat Street. The zone has been renovated several times, most recently in 2017, adding fountains and linking it to the Panfilov Street Promenade. It hosts a variety of shops, including TsUM and the Silk Way shopping mall, as well as kiosks. Future plans aim to extend the pedestrian zone to Seyfullin Prospect.
