Barrister Babu, a Hindi drama dubbed as Aşkın Kanunu, follows the story set in the 1920s under British rule in India. The plot centers on Bondita Das, an eight‑year‑old girl who defies traditional expectations, and Anirudh Roy Choudhary, a young lawyer returning from London determined to challenge caste and social norms. Bondita’s family wants her to marry an old man, but she writes a letter to her future husband demanding two conditions: plenty of sweets and her mother’s presence. The letter reaches Anirudh, who, after learning of his family’s opposition to abolishing the caste system, decides to change society’s views. When Bondita’s fiancé dies before the wedding, the village threatens to burn her, but Anirudh saves her and marries her. The story explores whether their marriage will turn into a strong relationship and whether Anirudh can realize his vision for his country.
