A CoreWeave announced that it will acquire data center provider Core Scientific in a $9 billion deal, all in shares, to boost its AI infrastructure. The acquisition will reduce $10 billion in lease obligations and increase efficiency, expanding CoreWeave’s data center capacity in the US to 1.3 gigawatts, with room for growth. The deal, expected to close by the end of 2025, values Core Scientific at a 66 % premium, with its shareholders receiving CoreWeave shares but holding less than 10 % of the combined company, CNBC reported.
