How I Left The City At 18 and Built My Dream Log Cabin

After six years, I finally achieved my dream log cabin and lifestyle, but the journey was tough. At 17 in Stockholm, I was inspired by Dick Proenneke's documentary and decided to leave the city, pack a backpack, and build a log cabin in the Swedish forests. With no prior experience, I spent weekends with my grandparents on their forest land, learning to fell and debark trees, and gradually improving my skills. At 18, I told my parents I would leave for a year to build my cabin; they allowed it on the condition I film my progress. I documented the process with a phone and later a tripod, showing my growth as a filmmaker.
