Images of boats docked in the Marina Del Rey harbor near Los Angeles after US authorities issued a tsunami advisory for most of the California coast. The warning came after Russia's sparsely populated Far East was hit by one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded. Officials from countries with a Pacific coastline issued warnings to avoid affected beaches.
