Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist and former advisor to Donald Trump, has supported the president's move to send National Guard units to Los Angeles amid continuing protests. Protests erupted across pockets of Los Angeles, triggered by immigration enforcement operations in parts of the city on Friday. Speaking to BBC chief anchor Caitriona Perry, Bannon said Trump should double and triple down today with ICE raids in response. When asked about the US public's right to protest, he said, "there are 10 million illegal alien invaders who came in here in four years." In another claim, he also said the Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, should go to jail, though Bass has repeatedly said local police could have handled the protests.
