This is my 1973 Mercury Montego station wagon that I got running and driving in a previous video. The 351 Cleveland engine was severely seized and although I got it unstuck, the cylinders had already suffered a lot of damage from corrosion. The engine may run, but it sounds a couple cylinders short of a V8. Knowing that it’d need extensive machine work to be fixed properly, I picked up a cheap 351 Windsor as a replacement. I expected to have the engine in the car and running by the end of the video, but after digging further into it, I decided to give it an at‑home rebuild first.
