Aerial firefighting operation launched as blaze spreads near Marseille | AFP

Images show aerial firefighting operation battling a wildfire spreading across approximately thirty hectares in the commune of Les Pennes-Mirabeau, on the outskirts of Marseille. The blaze prompted the evacuation of two housing estates and the closure of Marseille-Provence Airport in Marignane shortly after noon. Five Canadair planes, two Dash aircraft, and three helicopters have been deployed.
