Bruising and swelling explained as White House reveals Trump's 'chronic' health condition

The White House has revealed that Donald Trump has a blood circulation issue in his legs, following speculation about the discoloured appearance of his hands. During a briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the President was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after noticing “mild swelling in his lower legs”. Ms Leavitt also addressed conjecture about recent bruising on his hands, which she said was assessed to be “minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin” as a preventative heart-health measure.
