Deadly bridge collapse in India kills at least six

At least six people were killed and more than two dozen were swept away when a bridge collapsed over the Indrayani River in Pune, western India, on Sunday, June 15. Eyewitness Raghuveer Shelar described the moment the structure gave way, saying the bridge suddenly collapsed and 20–25 people were swept away, with some rescue workers saving a few tourists and others feared trapped in the debris. A group of tourists was reportedly standing on the bridge when it collapsed, and rescue efforts led by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are ongoing, with authorities saying more people may still be missing beneath the wreckage.
