Goa temple stampede | CM Pramod Sawant transfers several officers, says report will be made public

In the wake of the Shirgao stampede in Lairai Devi Temple, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant took action, transferring North Goa Collector Sneha Gitte, North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal, and other officers concerned. Speaking to ANI, the CM announced that the Goa government will provide ₹10 lakh ex‑gratia to families of those who died in the stampede, and victims with major injuries will receive ₹1 lakh compensation.
