James Bond Jr. is a 1992 NES platformer based on the short‑lived cartoon series. The game opens with Bond parachuting onto a Caribbean island where the S.C.U.M. organization is building a missile stockpile. Players guide Bond through a maze of underground passages, bunkers, and enemy‑filled rooms, hacking computers and solving puzzles to disable the missiles before they launch. The game features four main missions, each following a similar pattern, and uses passwords to allow players to resume progress. Visually, the game boasts detailed, parallax‑rich graphics and a moody color palette, while the soundtrack by Neil Baldwin is praised for its quality. Gameplay is fast‑paced but unforgiving: weapon switching requires holding Select and moving up or down, ammo is scarce, and enemies fire relentlessly with no brief invulnerability after taking damage. The difficulty is compounded by a second loop that offers no new content, forcing players to repeat the entire game to reach the true ending. Despite its polished production values and the novelty of turning Bond into a werewolf, many find the game too demanding and frustrating, though it remains a noteworthy example of a professionally produced NES title. The second loop begins at 1:28:19, and the ending screen appears at 2:50:58.
