New massive attack on Crimea; Ukraine crushes all Russian military targets in peninsula

On the night of May 2, drones launched a massive attack on several military facilities in Crimea, with explosions first heard around 1:30 Kyiv time near Sevastopol. Ukrainian forces reportedly used drones and Neptune‑type missiles, targeting airfields around Simferopol, Kachi, Belbek, Saki, Novofedorovka and Dzhankoy. Russian air defenses shot down up to ten drones, but fires and conflagrations were still reported across the peninsula. In an interview, commander Isa Akayev of the Crimea battalion declared that Ukraine must and will continue to fight to reclaim the peninsula, rejecting any compromise that would leave Crimea under Russian control.
