The sole known survivor of the Air India crash near Ahmedabad was seen limping toward an ambulance after the disaster on Thursday, June 12. Footage verified by Storyful shows 40‑year‑old British citizen Viswashkumar Ramesh making his way from the wreckage before being taken to Civil Hospital for treatment. He had been traveling with his brother, Ajaykumar Ramesh, who is believed to be among the victims. Indian police told Reuters that Viswashkumar survived by leaping from the aircraft's emergency exit moments before the plane was engulfed in flames. Photographs published by local outlets show him at the hospital with identifying details matching his plane ticket and passport. He was seen wearing an earring in his left ear, also visible in official hospital images released by India’s Home Minister Amit Shah, who met with him following the rescue. The Air India flight, en route to London with 242 people aboard, crashed minutes after takeoff, killing more than 200. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
