Military bloggers criticized the commander, nicknamed "Zly" with the surname Puzik, and the Russian Defense Minister intervened. Puzik was defended by Vladimir Solovyov, and after a year, Puzik remained in place while the wife of one of the fallen operators was declared a criminal suspect. Puzik’s partners, Katya and Valya, allegedly raised money for the military but were exposed by Goodwin and Ernest. Later, Katya and Valya sued those who had released the plea, creating a wave of despair in the Russian military blogging community, with many feeling powerless and ready to be eliminated.
