USA orders nuke subs moved near Russia

President Donald Trump has ordered two U.S. nuclear submarines to be positioned near Russia following threatening remarks by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Medvedev, now deputy chair of Russia’s security council, criticized Trump and warned that the U.S. was edging closer to war with Moscow. In response, Trump, who had already given Putin a 50-day deadline to end the war in Ukraine—later shortened to 10 days—called Medvedev’s comments “foolish and inflammatory.” He also threatened new tariffs if Russia doesn’t agree to a ceasefire by August 8, the U.S. Sun has reported. Trump expressed doubt about Putin’s willingness to make peace, while Ukraine’s President Zelensky emphasized that only Putin can end the war.
