It uses the 15‑question format and remains consistent with the traditional offer of a million‑dollar prize, complete with crowd noise when the player reaches the final question. The game plays the music from the first five questions continuously, even if the answer is wrong. An additional feature is a John Carpenter‑themed mode in which the player can win the million without using any lifelines. While the game was later ported to the Wii, the DS edition was the first to be billed as a “1st Edition”, and it adapted many questions from the Sky Gamestar app series.
