One of Jolson’s signature ballads, introduced on-stage in the 1921 musical “Bombo,” his mid‑1940s remake for Decca was also a best‑seller ( The original 78‑rpm recording, issued on Columbia A‑3500, features Al Jolson with an orchestra conducted by Charles Prince, recorded in New York City on October 21, 1921.
