I started by carefully removing the handle and welding worn pin holes. The blade was sandblasted to remove deep rust and then heated to correct its shape. It underwent a tempering process at 879 °C to reduce hardness and relieve internal stresses, after which it was reshaped. I sharpened a new cutting edge at a 30° angle, significantly improving cutting performance. A heat treatment raised the Rockwell hardness to 60‑62 HRC, ideal for a durable, sharp blade. I carved detailed patterns on both sides of the blade and crafted a new handle from reclaimed hickory wood, adding laser engraving and decorative accents to give the antique tool new life.
