Бishop of Pyatigorsk and Cherkessia, Feofilakt, spoke after the Gospel reading (Luke 17:12‑19) at the Divine Liturgy in the Mykhailovskaya Church on December 22, 2013. He recounted the story of Jesus healing ten lepers: the lepers, after being healed, did not return to give thanks, except for one Samaritan who, upon seeing his healing, returned, praised God, and knelt before Jesus. Jesus questioned why the other nine did not give glory to God, and the Samaritan’s faith was praised as the reason for his salvation.
