In a strong move following the Pahalgam terror attack, India has banned all direct and indirect imports from Pakistan and has also barred Pakistani ships from entering Indian ports. Although direct imports from Pakistan were minimal in recent years, some goods were still reaching India through third countries like Dubai and Singapore. Now, with this new decision, that route has also been shut down. According to a fresh notification by the Commerce Ministry, the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) has been updated to prohibit the direct or indirect import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan with immediate effect, until further notice.
