Typhoon Wipha caused widespread disruption across southern China and parts of Asia on Sunday, grounding over 400 flights in Hong Kong and affecting around 80,000 passengers. The storm made landfall in Guangdong province after brushing past Hong Kong with winds up to 140 kph, toppling trees and prompting high‑level storm warnings. At least 26 people in Hong Kong sought medical care, and over 250 took refuge in shelters. The typhoon also affected travel in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Macao. In the Philippines, Wipha intensified monsoon rains, killing one and displacing over 43,000 people, the Associated Press has reported. Meanwhile, heavy rains in South Korea left 14 dead and 12 missing.
