Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner has been named the new chief executive of The Hershey Company, effective August 18, succeeding Michele Buck, who is retiring after nearly 20 years with Hershey. Tanner, who joined Wendy’s in 2024 after a long career at PepsiCo, will return to the consumer packaged goods sector. Hershey praised Tanner’s extensive experience in snacks, beverages, M&A, and innovation. Michele Buck will stay on as an advisor through the end of the year, CNBC has reported. Meanwhile, Wendy’s CFO Ken Cook will serve as interim CEO starting July 18, as the company begins its search for a permanent CEO.
