At least 20 Palestinians, including medical staff, four journalists, and an aid worker, were killed in Israeli strikes on the Nasser Hospital compound in southern Gaza on Monday, according to hospital officials and Gaza’s health ministry. The IDF confirmed the strike, saying it would launch an inquiry and expressed regret for civilian casualties. Nasser is the only functioning hospital in southern Gaza, making the attack especially significant as Israel prepares for a new offensive in Gaza City, the Associated Press has reported. Since the war began after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks, around 63,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed.
