A second crypto investor is charged with kidnapping and torturing a man in a posh NYC townhouse

A second cryptocurrency investor, William Duplessie, 32, has surrendered to police in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a 28‑year‑old Italian national in an upscale Manhattan townhouse. The victim claims he was tortured for nearly three weeks as captors tried to force him to reveal his Bitcoin password. Duplessie faces charges including kidnapping, assault, and unlawful imprisonment. His arrest follows that of crypto investor John Woeltz, 37, who was taken into custody shortly after the victim escaped, the Associated Press has reported. The suspects allegedly lured the man to the townhouse to steal his Bitcoin fortune.
