Astal: Stage 16: The Fight for the Future (Jerado Final Boss & Ending)

Astal was able to beat the snot out of Geist enough times that he forced him to retreat back to the lair of the wicked (and ugly) Jerado. When Jerado realized that Geist failed to defeat Astal, he decided that he was best left as a pile of shattered diamonds. Jerado then stepped in, took Astal's Bird, and crushed Astal under his foot! There was nothing left to stop Jerado from destroying all of Quartalia and reshaping it into his image. But then it turned out that Astal survived his stomp, and tossed him aside to rescue the Bird! But alas, the evil Jerado had only begun to fight against this powerful little boy. Jerado will mainly attack from the background, throwing crystal dragons that can be stunned with Super Breath and then tossed, or beaten with the Bird. For some reason, he keeps trying to plant trees at you, which you can toss against him for damage, assuming he doesn't teleport away fast enough. More occasionally he will use crystal boulders instead. Sometimes he will approach where you are and slam his fist down; you have a very short window of opportunity to counterattack his arm while it's down, and you can even throw him entirely from grabbing the arm. Lastly, like with the quirk of Astal's voice, you'll hear Jerado's Japanese voice during this fight even if you're playing the English version of the game, and again Lani Minella voices him in English, like with everyone else in this game. Through Astal's herculean efforts, the evil Jerado was finally vanquished. And then something very special happened to the Bird; it was changing. The Bird that was traveling with him and fighting alongside him, and even saved his life at one point, turned out to be Leda all along. Leda didn't need to be rescued from Jerado this whole adventure. Defeating Jerado just meant that his spell on Leda no longer worked, changing her back to normal. Just as Astal and Leda were finally reunited, their great Goddess Antowas was once again awakened through the green jewel that Leda gave Astal before his banishment. Antowas now saw and recognized Astal's heroic efforts to defeat Jerado, free Leda from his spell, and save all of Quartalia. After having previously punished Astal for destroying the ocean, Antowas now saw that Astal really did care for others besides himself and Leda. She now saw his compassion for all living things. And so, as a parting gift, Antowas bestowed upon Astal the power of creation, the same power that Leda possessed. She then permanently left Quartalia for good, leaving the world to Astal and Leda to build and rebuild, for she now had their full trust to bring life and happiness everywhere.
