Black crowned Jay nectaring on Rhododendron blossoms at wildfilmsindia forest in Motidhar. The Black-headed Jay, also known as the Lanceolated Jay (Garrulus lanceolatus), is a bird found in the Himalayas, ranging from Afghanistan to India, Nepal, and Bhutan. It is a common sight in wooded areas with open spaces, cultivated areas, and even near villages as long as there are enough trees and scrubland. These jays are known for their distinctive black hood, greyish-pink body, and relatively long, blue-barred tail.
