Does India Need Dictatorship?

Many argue that India needs a period of strong, centralized dictatorship to clean up the system. Democracy, while ideal in theory, often gets stuck in endless debates, vote‑bank politics, and coalition pressures, slowing down decision‑making. A powerful, no‑nonsense leader could bypass red tape, enforce strict laws, and push long‑pending reforms without worrying about political backlash. Countries like China, despite being criticized for lack of freedom, have shown how centralized power can build massive infrastructure, boost the economy, and maintain internal order. In a country as chaotic as India, a strong leadership could bring discipline, enforce accountability, and break the cycle of corruption and inefficiency.
