I set out on a motorcycle trip to Bolivia, a place I had long wanted to visit after a previous attempt ended in Lima when my bike broke. The first three days were brutal, with strong winds and cold nights in a tent. I covered about 600 km on the first day, then struggled through a cold night and a 100 km stretch to Cordova, where I stayed in a cheap, rough area near the highway. I questioned the purpose of these trials, but decided to keep going. By evening I was riding over salt flats, enjoying the silence and wind, and spent the night under a large tree in a small settlement. The next day I rode another 400 km on uneven terrain, dropping my bike and injuring my leg, which left me exhausted. I slept early, woke to roosters, and continued without breakfast, marveling at the beautiful scenery. I reached Cafayate, stayed in a good hotel for two days, and gradually adapted to life on the road. Frequent falls and injuries made me doubt my decisions, but I learned a new rule to keep my right foot on the ground during stops. I reached the Bolivian border, climbed the altitude, and plan to go to the Uyuni salt flats to celebrate my birthday. My goal was to regain the sense of the road, confidence, and the ability to handle challenges alone. I still find it difficult but remain curious about the world.
