Jacob Aguiar demo

In celebration of the Pastel Society of America’s 50th Exhibition Enduring Brilliance, we are offering demonstrations of pastel technique by world‑renowned masters. For our next demonstration, we introduce Jacob Aguiar, a nationally recognized pastel artist from Boxford, MA, who balances painting inspiring local landscapes with practicing naturopathic medicine. Jacob has earned several pastel awards, including the Pastel 100 competitions from 2015 to 2018 and Best of Show at the 2016 Pastel Society of New Hampshire annual exhibition. He has exhibited in galleries across the United States, such as Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the Brinton Museum in Big Horn, Wyoming. A signature member of the Pastel Society of America, he teaches online through Patreon and conducts workshops nationwide. In this demonstration, Jacob will guide viewers through his process of painting dramatic light in landscapes with pastels, showcasing a novel underpainting technique to enhance drama.
