James Gunn Took A Huge Risk By Changing Superman's Origin Story

James Gunn’s Superman is finally in theaters and it brings with it a bombshell of a surprise when it comes to The Man of Steel and his Kryptonian origins. Starring David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan, the film sets the foundation for the upcoming DCU with plenty of twists, turns and surprises for fans. Lex Luthor and Superman go head to head as Clark Kent and Lois Lane work to figure out their relationship during the most tumultuous time of Kal‑El’s story yet (at least so far as this version of Superman is concerned). The first DCU adventure hints at plenty of future surprises from Co‑DC Studios Chairs James Gunn and Peter Safran and, if we’re very lucky, Krypto will be involved in as many of them as possible. In the meantime Warner Bros. Pictures and the DCU have created a brand new world, springboarding from DC Comics and delivering the most exciting DC story in some time by way of the newest Superman movie.
