John Carpenter’s first‑edition "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" game for the Nintendo Wii was released in the UK in 2007. It was the first game on the Wii and the first after the GBA Junior version, and it later received a DS port. Unlike the second edition, this version uses a 15‑question format. The background music plays continuously throughout the questions and only stops if you give a wrong answer or reach the final answer, although the music abruptly cuts off at the £500,000 question. This edition is notable for being the first Millionaire game actually marketed as a first edition, despite being the fifth game released on a major console after earlier titles by Eidos and Party Edition. The game’s questions largely came from the Sky Gamestar app, and a DS port was also produced.
