John Carpenter’s first edition game for the Nintendo Wii in the United Kingdom, released in 2007, is a version of the popular quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” that uses a 15‑question format and does not allow any lifelines. The game features continuous background music that only stops when a wrong answer is given or the final answer is reached, although the music abruptly cuts off during the £500,000 question. It is the only other title from Slam! Studios and Route1Games besides the second edition, and it was the first Millionaire game officially announced as a first edition, despite being the fifth game released on a major console after earlier titles by Eidos and Party Edition. The game was also ported to the DS, and many of the questions were sourced from the Sky Gamestar app playlists for both the original and gold versions.
