The first edition of John Carpenter’s "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" for Nintendo Wii was released in the UK in 2007. It is the first Wii title and the first after the GBA Junior game, exclusive to Nintendo, and later ported to DS. Unlike the second edition developed by Route1Games and Slam!, this version uses a 15‑question format. The soundtrack plays continuously throughout the questions and only stops when a wrong answer is given or the final answer is reached, although the music abruptly cuts off at the £500,000 question. It is the only other game from Slam! Studios and Route1Games besides the second edition, and it was the only other title released by them. The game is notable for being the first Millionaire title officially announced as a first edition, despite being the fifth game released on a major console after the 2000 Eidos DVD, 2000 GBA, and 1999 PC releases.
