The game by John Carpenter, released in 2007 as the first title for Nintendo Wii in the United Kingdom, is a version of the classic "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" that uses a 15‑question format and does not include any lifelines. Unlike the second edition developed by Route1Games and Slam!, this edition features continuous background music that only stops when a wrong answer is given or the final answer is reached, although the music abruptly cuts off during the £500,000 question. It is the first Millionaire game officially designated as a first edition, despite being the fifth game released on a major console after earlier titles on DVD, GBA, and PC. The game was later ported to the DS, and additional content was planned for a World Tour compilation that never materialized.
